An Unexpected Visitor
Late one stormy evening, I heard a loud knock at our door. My heart raced as I slowly opened it. To my surprise, there stood our old neighbour, Mr. Vuki, soaked from head to toe and shivering in the rain.
"I'm sorry to trouble you," he said breathlessly, "but the river flooded my path home." My mother quickly welcomed him in and wrapped a warm blanket around his shoulders while I made him a hot cup of tea.
As the storm raged outside, we listened to his stories of the old village. His visit, which had seemed frightening at first, became one of the warmest evenings we had ever shared. When the rain finally stopped, I realised that a stranger's knock can sometimes bring the gift of friendship.
